William Morris Gallery
The William Morris Gallery is housed in a Georgian house, built in the 1740s and set in Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, in north-east London. The grade listed building was Morris's family home from 1848 to 1856.
William Morris
(1834 - 1896) Designer, craftsman, writer, conservationist and socialist. Associated with the British Arts and Crafts Movement, he was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. His literary contributions helped to establish the modernfantasy genre, while he played a significant role in propagating the early socialist movement in Britain.

Printing with woodblocks. This hand-carved woodblock was used by the Morris & Co printers to make the Daffodil pattern. Metal strips have been inserted to make the blocks more hard-wearing.
